Rowers should use common sense in the face of inclement weather. High winds, high waves, heavy amounts of debris, fast currents, extreme temperatures, lightning/thunderstorms, and heavy fog are all reasons for not practicing. Follow the published safety guidelines (see “Safety Handbook” below). Rowers should refer to NOAA weather and hydrologic prediction services (see links below). Coaches, coxswains, the Safety Committee, or club officers can cancel rowing if they feel the conditions merit.
